“The film is actually set not in a perfected future, but actually kind of in a future world that is deteriorating. And so we wanted to create a musical element that had reflected on current music sounds, but also felt kind of time-forward and had a certain futuristic element.” “Really our notion was to find music that was dangerous, tribal and had electronic elements without really being dance-y,” he added. Since most of this film takes place in the Dauntless compound, the darkness of the soundtrack is fitting. It remains to be seen what will happen musically when Tris and Co. wander beyond the bounds of their chosen faction in “Insurgent.” Poster isn’t sure yet whether he will be working on the second film in the series, but if he does, he would like to continue to use the artists featured on the first soundtrack Clams Casino and Ellie Goulding in particular.

Kanye West Takes DONDA Music To Roc Nation
And it’s more than just Pharrell’s fashion sense. The report states that while the pair are frequent music collaborators, West fears that any deal Williams might sign with adidas has the potential to outshine whatever plans he might have with his own deal with adidas. West’s first collection with adidas is reportedly set to drop in September. Back in December, West famously left Nike to sign with adidas after a long dispute that included disagreements over compensation, money and respect between the two. West signing an actual deal with adidas means that this could be a long-term production with multiple products that will be readily available to the public unlike the much-talked about Nike Air Yeezy 2.

Kanye West’s DONDA Has Partnered With Jay Z’s Roc Nation
Now its been announced that hes entering a partnership deal with Jay Zs Roc Nation for a focus on Wests international recording brand and touring ventures . West who has given Jay Z credit for being his mentor in the hip hop industry, and has worked with Jay Z musically in every sense of the word, is now moving to take over the design world. In addition Jay Z has been successful with his Roc Nation company for over a decade, so this move to partner with the Blueprint rapper is an extremely smart move. Although West is clearly educated, he doesnt have the reputation of being a good business man like Jay Z does. In terms of branding, West is still very much seen as a loose cannon, so this partnering could mellow his image a bit. Roc Nation released a statement on the official website about the new business venture.

Kanye launched the company back in 2009 when he collaborated with Louis Vuitton on a footwear collection, and in 2011 DONDA [link] designed the packaging and tour for Jay and ‘Ye’s Watch the Throne album. They will also be responsible for working on Kanye’s new Adidas line that will debut in the fall. Outside of Kanye’s own projects, DONDA has designed for artists that include Lil Wayne and Pusha T.

The 36-year-old rapper is firing back at a lawsuit that the family of David Pryor filed last year accusing him of stealing music for his hit Gold Digger, claiming he did not sample from Thunder & Lightnings Bumpin Bus Stop. Read the Documents Pryors family was seeking damages for the illegal use of the song and asked a judge to stop West from selling his hit single. But in the court documents obtained by Radar, West claims he didnt sample Pryors song and argues that the phrase, Get down girl, get down, get down is not something that can be copyrighted. Kim Kardashian s baby daddy also points to the statute of limitations, which prevents the family from filing the lawsuit even if he didsample from Bumpin Bus Stop because it caused no harm to Pryor. West is demanding the lawsuit be thrown out.
