I would argue that this is entirely purposeful on the part of Kanye West. He purposefully went on the loveliest talk show with the most charming and gee-whiz talk show host, specifically so that he could debut his sexualized Bonnie & Clyde self-deconstruction behind a family-friendly veneer. This song, after all, is about trying to become a family man. This video, I would argue, is about failing. I dont like toit was like Id go out and there would be photos of me anytime I was hungry or I was wanting to eat something, and these stories that I was 200 pounds. I was gaining weight because I was pregnant and it was really hard to read all these stories and hear all these nasty things. People think Im out of hiding now. No, I just kind of wanted to adjust my lifea little bit because why would I subject myself to so much negativity, especially now that I have a daughter? I dont need that energy. Id rather be in a happy place when Im home. I choose to go out withfamily and friendswhen I want to but I definitely try to live a private life because of that.
